Plum Lucky!

OK. I'm so behind on books I've read since January 1st that I'm going to give up on posting them in the order I read them and just post as I can. Sometimes doing things in the order I'm "supposed" to (in the insanity of my own mind) just gets in the way!

Book #3: I read Janet Evanovich's new book, Plum Lucky this morning. :D Once again, I laughed until I had to stop reading so I could breathe again. Evanovich is a quick read, but anything that makes me laugh until I have to use my inhaler is worth the price. Plus, when I go to Border's I can't go through the line without picking up one of the chocolates they sell to people who can't go through the line without picking up chocolates. Border's tried to change the brand of chocolate they sell a few months ago and I actually complained to the manager.

It's probably scary that I sound more like Stephanie Plum than myself in that last paragraph!

The first paragraph of Plum Lucky: "My mother and grandmother raised me to be a good girl, and I have no problem with the girl part. I like men, malls, and carbs. Not necessarily in that order. The good part has been spotty. I don't steal cars or sniff glue, but I've had a lot of impure thoughts. And I've acted on a bunch of them. Not limited to, but including, snooping through a guy's closet in search of his underwear. On the surface, this doesn't sound like a majorly hot experience, but this was no ordinary guy, and I couldn't find any underwear."

Book #4: I re-read Plum Lovin' last night after dinner because I couldn't remember what happened in it, and I didn't want to be plopped in the middle of the Diesel story without knowing where we left off... all three are from the Stephanie Plum series, but these are from her "Between-the-Numbers" set that starts with Visions of Sugar Plums.

The first paragraph of Plum Lovin': "Men are like shoes. Some fit better than others. And sometimes you go out shopping and there's nothing you like. And then, as luck would have it, the next week you find two that are perfect, but you don't have the money to buy both. I was currently in such a position... not with shoes, but with men. And this morning it got worse."

I just checked Amazon.com and the next book in the Stephanie Plum series, Fearless Fourteen, is due out on June 17, 2008. Oh... the agony of waiting...
